Softball tourney lures teams from all over

The Father’s Day Classic tournament was held over the weekend at Laurel Fields in Junction City. Twenty-nine teams competed in the tournament. There were three divisions, a 12 and under, 14 and under and 16 and under. Three Junction City teams competed in the two day tournament. This was the third in a series of four big tournaments during the late spring and early summer months. The first two happened in May, and the next tournament should happen during the third week of July. Typically the next tournament, the Cooper Memorial would be happening next weekend, but because of the upcoming Olympic Trials in Eugene, there would be no hotel accomodations available for visiting teams.
